7:36PM. 25/7/2002 Ang Mo Kio to Hougang, Singapore
Last nite was one of the worse, heaviest rain that I ever drive on the road
The rain so heavy, I was picking up from my wife from her office and on the way back, which we pass thru a tunnel that is just near to KC new house. I saw a black shadow dash thru the street. Rain was so heavy that i couldn't see properly so I slow down and ask my wife to look out for that person
....and he disappear in the dark, my wife told me she didn't saw anything at the that, there were only 3-4 cars under that tunnel. Sky is dark but I can see clearly becuase there is a thunder just strike. Woh. . . the gate of xxx shouldn't be open so early.
I drop her at the bus stop which is just below of our block and I drive around 30-40 km/hr back to the carpark. I stop at a cross junction waiting for green light and another thunder strike again. This time the thunder was so hard that my car was shaking when it strikes on the ground. I was shocked 'cause it is almost the same experience when I was standing 10-15 metre next to the Artiliary Gun during 1994 NDP.
Slowly, I step lightly on my accerlated back to the carpark and I park nicely as usual. Took out an umberla and walks toward Blk 4 from carpark. The distance is 15-20 m away, rains is still as heavier that my t-shirt also get wet wet. Along the path, I was looking down on the ground to lookout just incase I step on something which I dun wan to.
Suddenly ! ! ! ! !
I saw a bright light flash thru the ground.. . . ha ha ....i know it is reflection from the sky .....but dam a thunder just strike above my top .....and it is so bright like we throw a flash generade to the sky ...I was so scare and i never been afraid of thunder before.
I begin to walk faster back to my house block saw the drain was flooded like a baby swimming pool, people was stuck under the HDB to take cover, the worse of all happened.
Dam bloody new lift was short-circuited due to the heavy rain.

I learnt a new term call Wi-Fi ... here is the detail of this new word:
Wi-Fi is the popular term for a high-frequency wireless local area network (WLAN) technology and standard that has gained acceptance in many companies as an alternative to a wired LAN. Wi-Fi is specified in the 802.11b specification from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and is part of a series of wireless specifications together with 802.11, 802.11a, and 802.11g. All four standards use the Ethernet protocol and CSMA/CA (carrier sense
multiple access with collision avoidance) for path sharing.
The 802.11b (Wi-Fi) operates in the 2.4 GHz range offering data speeds up to 11 megabits per second. The modulation used in 802.11
has historically been phase-shift keying (PSK). The modulation method
selected for 802.11b is known as complementary code keying (CCK),
which allows higher data speeds and is less susceptible to multipath-propagation interference.
Unless adequately protected, a Wi-Fi wireless LAN can be susceptible
to access from the outside by unauthorized users, some of whom have
used the access as a free Internet connection! (The activity of
locating and exploiting security-exposed wireless LANs is commonly
known as war driving.) Companies that have a wireless LAN are urged
to add security safeguards such as the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) encryption standard, the setup and use of a virtual private network (VPN) or IPsec, and a firewall or DMZ.

And do you believe it, I had already send 74 emails with resume, 3 hardcopy to the employer to look for a IT job like WebMaster, System Engineer (currently took up MCSE, MCP, MCSA, CCNA, Checkpoint), Customer Support Engineer, some sort of Govt. Sector officer and etc..and yet only got some interviews only.
Very sad, is it all employer really emphasis on the look of the person to decide whether to employ him?
Who ask me to not be good looking...sigh ~ ~ ~
